Civil Rights Defenders saves addresses and other contact details to members, donors and persons who have declared an interest in receiving information from us. We do that in order to inform our subscribers about our work and to carry through campaigns. We also register addresses of representatives of certain authorities, such as members of Parliament and other persons (lawyers, journalists, professors and others) who have an interest in our work. In these cases, only the work place addresses and other contact details are saved, no private addresses are registered. The person in question will be informed of being added to our mailing list and asked to contact us if he or she wishes to be deleted from the mailing list.
Civil Rights Defenders registers the name, postal address, telephone number, mobile phone number, e-mail address and in some cases work place and occupation of the person in question. The data base also contains details of donations and membership fees.
Using the data
The data is used exclusively for the mailings and campaigns of Civil Rights Defenders and may not be passed on to persons outside of the organization. Anyone can at any time request to know which personal details Civil Rights Defenders has registered in his or her name.
Informing the registered persons
In all messages to the network, members and potential donors of Civil Rights Defenders, the receiver is informed about how we use personal information (according to the recommendations of FRII – The Swedish Fundraising Council). We do not pass your details on to third parties. If you have questions about how we use your personal information, or if you want us to change or delete your details, please contact our Personal Details Representative Hampus Stenberg
