2009-05-06: Women invisible as political refugees
Minoo Jalali, a lawyer born in Iran and living in Great Britain, claims that female and male political refugees are not treated the same in Great Britain. Maria Bexelius teaches in the right of asylum on Teologiska högskolan in Stockholm and has written the books “Right of Asylum, gender and politics” (2008) and “Women on the run” (2001). During one hour of human rights they will be discussing the legal situation for female asylum seekers in Sweden and in Great Britain, similarities and differences.
