2009-12-10: Lifting of Sanctions Towards Belarusian Officials Extended
In November the European Council decided to extend the temporary lifting of the travel ban against a number of Belarusian politicians and officials. At the same time they extended the sanctions until October 2010.
The same month the independent international radio station European Radio for Belarus received an accreditation for broadcasting in Belarus for a one-year period. The accreditation was issued to twelve journalists and technical officers of the radio.
