2010-02-22: 2010 will be a year of trials for Moldovan media
The media situation deteriorated during the first half of 2009, with several cases of violations of journalist’s rights. The second half of the year was however characterized by the initiation of a reform process within the media landscape, according to a report published by Independent Journalism Centre in cooperation with Civil Rights Defenders.
The report, which describes the developments and trends, freedom of expression and the situation for media in Transnistria, predicts that 2010 will be a year of trials for print and other media due to increased competition and financial difficulties.
