Supporting development of weak media sector

The Serbian media sector is characterized by political and economic influence on media, violations of the freedom of expression, non-transparent ownership structures and controversial regulatory practices. Together with our long-term partner Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM), we strive to respond to the existing challenges in the media sector, and to contribute to its development.

Within the frame of our cooperation with ANEM, we provide free legal assistance, create media policy papers and arrange press conferences and meetings with the authorities.

ANEM is a non-profit association of electronic media that counts 41 full members and 45 affiliate members, which are founders of approximately 110 TV and radio stations all over Serbia. The association aims at establishing a politically independent legal framework, and an economically viable environment for the development of electronic media in Serbia. ANEM also strives to improve the professional and technical standards in the media sphere.
