Human rights play on Balkan tour
4-5 February, participants from Serbia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Croatia and Albania gathered in a meeting to kick-off the Balkan tour of the play Seven at the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade. The tour is organised by Hedda Produktion AB, Civil Rights Defenders and several of its local partners and the Swedish embassies in each country.
Seven is a documentary play based on personal interviews with seven women from Russia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, Guatemala, and Cambodia, who have overcame impossible odds in their work for human rights.
It is described as a play about “seven women, seven stories and a thousand questions.” The personal stories are told with humour, seriousness and passion about both great and terrible events in their lives. By 2011 Seven has been translated into eight languages and seen globally. Read more about the play here.
In the fall of 2013 the play will be performed in all of the countries in the region, except for Montenegro. The tour is organised by Hedda Produktion AB, Civil Rights Defenders and several of its local partners, the organisation behind Seven, and the Swedish embassies in each country.Categories: News.
