Cambodia’s donors must stand up for human rights

Ahead of Cambodia’s Government-Donor Coordination Committee meeting on 26 September, Civil Rights Defenders and seven other human rights groups sent a letter to Cambodia’s donors, including Sweden, urging them to make a coordinated and public condemnation of the government’s increasing human rights abuses, and not endorse or reward the government’s actions. The organisations also called that international aid should ensure that democracy, the rule of law and human rights in Cambodia are strengthened.
