Students working against discrimination

In 2009 Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted an anti-discrimination law. Civil Rights Defenders cooperate with the Association for Democratic Initiatives (ADI) in Sarajevo to to facilitate better enforcement of the law, and to improve the understanding about discrimination among students and different stakeholders.

Together, we raise the awareness on persisting discriminatory practices through trainings for students, roundtables with different stakeholders, street actions and public campaigns. We empower student associations to promote anti-discrimination legislation and advocate for change, especially regarding the situation of students with disabilities.

In collaboration with ADI, we conduct research to identify the most frequent discriminatory practices in relation to access to education in Bosnia and Herzegovina and present the findings of the research to stakeholders.
