Loreen supports human rights

After her meetings with human rights activists in Azerbaijan, Swedish ESC winner Loreen has decided to become a member of Civil Rights Defenders to further support the work for human rights.

– With Loreen’s commitment, we can do even more to strengthen human rights. Together we managed to show the world what the situation in Azerbaijan is like and I look forward to developing our cooperation, says Robert Hårdh, the organisation’s Executive Director.

Loreen contacted Civil Rights Defenders before she went to Baku, to learn more about the situation in relation to human rights in Azerbaijan, and to meet with Azerbaijani human rights defenders.

– Loreen’s meeting with the activists means a lot. They even said that her visit gives them some protection from possible reprisals now when the spotlight goes off in Baku, says Robert Hårdh.
