We are looking for staff – three positions to fill

Programme Officer for the North and South Caucasus
As Programme Officer, you will primarily be managing Civil Rights Defenders’ program in the North Caucasus and develop our work in the South Caucasus. The position is permanent and starting immediately. We will interview during the process and might fill the position before the application deadline 2013-06-20.

Qualifications and conditions of employment:
• A bachelor’s degree in law, political science, international relations or similar, including education on international human rights mechanisms.
• At least 4 years working experience with human rights.
• Working experience from the Caucasus, preferably work related to human rights, and extensive knowledge of the human rights situation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
• Documented experience in project management or similar in non-governmental organizations (NGO-work).
• Fluent Russian and English.
• Frequent travel to the North and South Caucasus is part of this position. Approximately 30-50 days per year.

Programme Officer for Moldova
As Programme Officer for Moldova, you will be responsible for the establishment of Civil Rights Defenders’ field office in Chisinau. You will also be responsible for developing a program to support human rights defenders in Transnistria. You will be based in Chisinau, Moldova.

Qualifications and conditions of employment:
• A bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations or the like, including training in international mechanisms for the protection of human rights.
• Minimum of 2 years of working experience with human rights.
• Working experience in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, preferably in human rights, and extensive knowledge of the human rights situation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
• Documented experience in project management or similar in non-governmental organisations (NGO-work).
• Fluent in English and Russian.
• Knowledge of Romanian is a plus.
• Frequent travel to Transnistria is part of this position.

Programme administrator for Moldova
You will provide administrative support to the Programme Officer in all activities, including the eatablishment of Civil Rights Defenders’ office in Chisinau. Much of the work involves contact with our partners and with the headquarters in Stockholm. You will also take care of the bookkeeping for the Moldovan office, in close cooperation with our financial department in Stockholm. You will be based in Chisinau, Moldova.

Qualifications and conditions of employment
• You should be trained in organisation, finance, financial management, or related fields.
• Knowledge in accounting.
• Experience in volunteer work and / or work in nonprofit organisation.
• Fluent in English, Romanian and Russian.
