We are Seeking an Intern to the Communications Department
The Communications Department is responsible for the external positioning of Civil Rights Defenders and acts as an internal advisor on various strategic communication issues. We publish news stories and reports on developments and achievements in the regions where the organisation is active. With the responsibility for Civil Rights Defenders website, media relations and presence in social media, the department’s aim and mission is to increase the awareness about Civil Rights Defenders in Sweden and globally. In the autumn of 2016, we are seeking an intern to the Communications department with a passion for human rights alongside a general experience in writing. The intern will be part of the department’s team and will work under the guidance of the Communications and International Relations Director.
As an intern you will be involved in implementing the communication department’s mission. You will write articles, do research and translation work and serve as a general support to the communications team. Since the organisation’s communication is bilingual, English and Swedish, we are seeking a person who can speak and write fluently in both languages.
The intern should have a genuine interest in human rights and a basic knowledge of Civil Rights Defenders work and mission. The intern should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and responsibly. A background in journalism and communications work is an advantage as well as a proven experience in human rights work for other non-profit organisations or projects in Sweden or abroad. Knowledge of photography, Photoshop and Indesign is an advantage.
The internship, which is located at our head office in Stockholm, starts January 2017 and runs until June 2017. The application should include a cover letter and resume. Please send your application to email@example.com no later than 15 December 2016Categories: News.
