(English) Team “Henrik Steska” from Slovenia new Champions of the Regional Moot Court Competition
Team ”Henrik Steska” from Ljubljana (Slovenia) won the tenth edition of the Regional Moot Court Competition before European Court of Human Rights hosted by Civil Rights Defenders. The event took place between 6–8 May at Commercial Court in Zagreb (Croatia).
Twelve teams from Albania, Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Slovenia took part in the event, competing for the prestigious regional title and their chance to meet the winners of the Nordic Moot Court Competition in the Trans-European Moot Court Finals. The Trans-European finals will be held at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg this autumn.
”In the past 10 years, we have hosted over 1000 participants, thus creating a network of new human rights defenders across the region. The competing spirit, first-hand experience and more importantly, shared values and dedication of the participants are solid foundations for better protection of human rights”, said Goran Miletic, Programme Director for the Western Balkans at Civil Rights Defenders.
The Regional Moot Court was first organised in 2007 and is inspired by the Nordic Moot Court model, whose tradition goes back to 1984. The competition includes written briefs and trial simulations before a panel of Judges of the European Court of Human Rights.Kategorier: Nyheter.
